At Transpro Burgener we get a lot of questions about being in the trucking business. We consider ourselves the experts as we have been in business for almost 70 years and we do our best to help everyone who needs it to learn just what the trucking business is all about. One of the most frequent questions we receive involves how someone can find a trucking school and subsequent job.
Finding the right trucking school is the first step in having a successful trucking career. There are several things you must consider however before committing to a trucking school wholeheartedly.
It’s not unlikely that money is a concern at this juncture in your life right now, as happens when starting a new career. Therefore, it is important to do a ton of research regarding how much different trucking schools will charge you to take classes. While there is a median price at which most trucking schools revolve around, you could end up paying up to $500 more to attend classes by one company rather than another.
Just because a trucking school is closer to your home, doesn’t mean it is the best choice for you. Research schools that are a little further away. Driving the extra distance will not only pay off when you receive better teaching but it will also allow you to start getting use to driving alone for periods of time like you will be doing in your new career.
- Job Placement Opportunities
Often truck driving schools have job placement assistance for their students. However this is not a guarantee and therefore you should always try and attend a school that will aid you in getting a job once your schooling is complete.
